Netflix-ize your Presentations

Present as a storyteller

Imagine people would enjoy your presentation and couldn’t stop listening. Imagine they trust every word you say. What would that mean to the impact of your presentation?

That is exactly what professional speakers do. They bring their message with exciting stories. They use storytelling to illustrate their point. Whenever you tell a story, it is inevitable that you show your expertise, values and… personality. This makes it easy for the audience to relate to you. And trust you.

Take your delivery to the next level and start presenting like a storyteller!

You can do that too

Part 1: Storytelling as a Messenger

This first workshop will reveal the secrets of storytelling. Why are people so eager to hear a story, believe every word of it and therefore believe the narrator? You will see some great examples of storytelling used in business that are compelling evidence of the ease to deliver a convincing message. By the way, what is your message?

  • Our Brain is a real Story Machine
  • The powerful effects of stories
  • Convincing strategies
  • Objective and audience
  • Assignment: what is your message?

Part 2: Find the Story

In the second workshop you will discover two stories of your own that communicate your message. When you intensify these stories using the laws of storytelling, your audience will grasp and embrace the message.

  • 3 story types
  • Find a story – method 1
  • Find a story – method 2
  • The universal structure of a great story
  • Narrative elements that make the story exciting
  • Assignment: write out your story, send it in, and receive personal feedback

Part 3: Storytelling in a Presentation

Now it is time to integrate the telling of stories into a business presentation. What are the caveats, how do you begin a story, how do you make sure they get the point, etc.

  • Reviewing the story feedback
  • 3 ways to integrate the story
  • Bring the story to life on stage
  • Interact with the audience
  • What about PowerPoint?
  • Be prepared for telling the story
  • Assignment: set up your presentation

Part 4: It’s Presentation Time!

This is the workshop we have been working towards. Everyone gives their presentation and receives feedback, tips and tricks. Experiment, try, experience and learn also by looking at others. You will see for yourself what works and what doesn’t. We look at body language, use of voice, gestures, interaction, but above all: how do you stay authentic and tell it as real as possible.

Presenting is like a Netflix story

When you watch a movie you are totally concentrated. You find yourself in the movie, you relate with the main character, you feel what he or she feels. That is real engagement! This story power is directly applicable in our presentations. And it works wonders!

A totally different public speaking course

Forget PowerPoint. This is about telling your presentation. In this training you’ll work on a presentation you once gave or will give in the near future. You will make it catchy and impressive. And you will practice a lot, of course. Afterwards you go home with a real story you can use the next day in a presentation.

Storytelling as your presentation technique – you will shine

  • You can you easily explain a complex topic
  • Your audience will see you are real and trustworthy
  • You will touch your audience emotionally
  • Your message is understood and accepted
  • Your presentations are exciting to listen to
  • You will enjoy presenting a lot better!

“From the first minute Erik knows how to hold your attention during the workshop. His stories evoke a lot of recognition. His tips are clear. This will help me a lot. My head is already spinning with ideas. Absolutely recommended! ”
Nicole Gout, Nationale-Nederlanden

Do you want to improve your speaking skills?

This program is intended for anyone who wants to present better, more concise and compelling. Much or little experience with presenting or storytelling is irrelevant. You will receive exactly the help, attention and critical feedback that is tailored to you.

How does this online training storytelling work?

Only 6 people can participate in the program. Due to this small group, you receive personal attention, tips and feedback. Everyone has their camera and microphone turned on – so you can just talk and see each other. This is what it looks like. You join the workshop comfortably at your kitchen table, and thanks to the unique OnLive approach, it feels like we are together in one of my comfortable training locations. Each workshop lasts 1½ hours, including a short coffee break. To keep you alert there is variation: explanations, experiments, discussion, telling with feedback, example stories, video clips and  of course assignments. Lively contact and energy guaranteed!
